Black Forest Mini Trifles

Indulge in our black forest mini trifles, each a decadent blend of chocolate pudding, cherry filling and whipped cream, layered with Delizza Belgian Mini Eclairs. Savor these rich and stunning desserts, one spoonful at a time.


(Makes 8 to 10 mini trifles)

    For the chocolate pudding mix

  • 1 (167-gram) box chocolate pudding mix
  • 3 cups / 735 grams whole milk
  • 1 (100-gram) bar dark chocolate

    For the whipped cream (Can be replaced with store-bought frozen whipped cream)

  • 2 cups / 480 grams heavy cream
  • 5 tablespoons / 40 grams milk powder
  • 5 tablespoons / 35 grams powdered sugar


  • Stand mixer or hand mixer
  • Vegetable peeler

Chocolate pudding mix

  1. Divide the chocolate bar in half. Set aside one half of the chocolate bar for garnish.

  2. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the chocolate bar in 20-second increments.

  3. In a mixing bowl, combine melted chocolate and milk.

  4. Add the chocolate pudding mix to the chocolate milk mixture. Whisk for about 2 minutes until all ingredients are well combined.

  5. Whipped cream (Can be replaced with store-bought frozen whipped cream)

  6. In a small bowl, combine milk powder and powdered sugar.

  7. In a mixing bowl, add 2 cups of heavy whipping cream. Whisk the heavy whipping cream at medium speed.

  8. Slowly add the milk powder and powdered sugar mixture, 1 tablespoon at a time.

  9. Continue to whisk until soft peaks have formed.


  1. Place 2 to 3 Delizza Belgian Mini Eclairs at the base of a dessert glass.

  2. Add a layer of chocolate pudding over the eclairs. For a neater appearance, you can use a piping bag to layer the ingredients.

  3. Add a layer of cherry pie filling.

  4. Add a layer of whipped cream.

  5. Repeat alternating layers until the glass is almost filled.

  6. Add a final top layer of whipped cream.

  7. Using a vegetable peeler, peel the side of the remaining chocolate bar to create chocolate shavings.

  8. Garnish with chocolate shaving and additional cherries.
